Fairfield Village group discusses goals, home inventory

Fairfield Village Neighborhood Council Dec. 4 discussed setting goals and the home inventory.
President Andy Ellard called on members to be prepared to set group goals for the January meeting.
"This is the time to determine what we can accomplish next year, " Ellard said.
He outlined a number of activities that the group will be working on and urged members to get involved in recruitment. The group is actively seeking volunteers for the safety watch, block captains, a garden project and youth work.
Vice President Claude Miller presented the group with a sample block directory for use by block captains. The directory contained a map of the area and phone numbers of watch members.
Judith Hovey, beautification committee chairperson, provided an update on the home inventory.
"We expect the inventory to be complete by January. Then we will conduct a visual survey of the area," Hovey said.
Ellard said he received crime statistics for November from the city indicating two calls to police for breaking and entering in the Fairfield area. He said Officer Tanya Meeks, the Flint Police Department's ministation liaison, and Sgt. Lloyd Nicholson, from the Mott Police, are scheduled to be at the next meeting.
The group will meet next at 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Court Street Village Neighborhood House, 727 East St.
