CBC owner has not cleaned up site or gone to jail

David Caswell of the Citizen's Nusiance Task Force was in Judge Herman Marable's 68th District courtroom May 9 to follow up on the judge's order for Stephanie Reichling of CBC Recycling to cleanup the former recycling site at 13th Street and South Saginaw Street or face jail time.
Previously, Marable sentenced Reichling to 75 days in Genesee County Jail beginning May 1.
According to Caswell, Stan Sweet, bankruptcy trustee for CBC Recycling owner Stephanie Reichling, appealed to Marable saying $10,000 would be released by May 16 for the cleanup. The bankruptcy trustee said a petition must be submitted for the money and it will take several more days before the money can be released.
Sweet told Marable he had an estimate from a local contractor that the cleanup job would be completed in two to three days at a cost of $10,000.
Mike Reiter, city inspector who earlier estimated the cleanup to take several weeks at a cost of over $100,000, told the judge he had taken pictures of the site at 8 a.m. that morning and no progress had been made since the judge ordered Reichling to clean up the hazardous site.
The city issued four citations against CBC Recycling, but to date, nothing has been done. The owner is still not serving jail time as ordered.
Marable issued a bench warrant for Reichling to report to jail immediately.
The cleanup case was continued until 2:30 p.m. May 22.
As he was leaving the courtroom, Caswell said, "The city did not make the mess and Flint residents should not have to clean it up."
