Digital Bookmobile to help Library launch new service
By Wanda Harden Jul 2010
Check out e-books, audio books and videos and download to a PC or compatible technology at the Flint Public Library's new digital branch FPL to Go. The library's new service will launch July 16 with a visit by the Digital Bookmobile from noon to 6 p.m.
This high-tech teaching vehicle is housed within a 74-foot, 18-wheel tractor-trailer. Inside you will find broadband internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems and a variety of portable media players. Come and learn how to use the new service.
The Digital Bookmobile will be parked in the library's lot, 1026 E. Kearsley St., from noon to 6 p.m. Interactive computer stations give visitors an opportunity to search the digital media collection, use supported mobile devices and download and enjoy eBooks, audio books and videos from the Flint Public Library's new FPL to Go.
Call (810) 232-7111 or visit fpl.info for details.
