The Flint Planning Commission Jan. 11 recommended the Flint City Council rezone Great Lakes Technology Center from G (heavy manufacturing) district to D-6 (general and highway commercial service) district.
Representatives for the center said they want to rezone the property to make room for other commercial businesses and a life sciences center. There are no manufacturing jobs in the area, they said.
The group will meet next at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 and March 22 in the Flint City Council Chambers in City Hall, 1101 S. Saginaw St. Call (810) 766-7355 for details.
