Poetry: Risky Romeo
By Nic Custer Jan 2010
Juliet, Juliet,
show me your wild side.
I'm old enough to tell you
what love is.
If you want to learn, I kiss by the books
and study harlequins.
My stars may be crossed,
but when you move your veil,
I see the sunrise. And
I'm lost or at least
I have no map
to chart my course —
do I proclaim my love?
do I run from the truth?
Or will tragedy claim my source?
…at least she ain't a nun.
and I know you know I know what
you meant when you said a rose
by any other name, 'cause
my mom loves roses
but she calls them weeds.
Do you smoke Mantua's?
"Banish death, with a ring of smoke."
...Heh. Ok.
Either way,
I'll be your Romeo,
if that's what you want to
call me. Leo works too.
Juliet you are my love and
i'd do anything for your affections.
I'd drink poison for you...
You know, if it wasn't poison.
