Poetry: Die Already (Let me be Your Idol)

Print

Die Already (Let me be Your Idol)

—With a rebel yell

i cry, "buy, buy, buy."

Come when i yell,

and die, die, die.—

Let me enlist your ears:

I want to be your idol.

because the ideal is undead.

It never lived outside

your head.

It said smile

your brightest, but

I'm armed to the teeth.

It said money is god

but ive lost all belief.

I fight flag worship

'cause they're

the first to raise

nooses.

And i brave the cold

praying for a loosey.

Don't fuck with me.

cause I want you!

dead or alive.

Lead footed, palm loaded,

following tracks

strewn with dollar signs.

But

I am blind like

justice.

I am comforting like

warm blood.

I'm double-barrel,

double-fisted

and I sweat bullets

in the graveyard.

I pledge allegiance to the

White faced dead,

wallets

seeping red.

With a tattered flag and

balls of blue,

this is the night

I'm coming for you.
