Poetry: Fear Tactics
By Nic Custer Feb 2010
"...Are you scared?" he asked from behind a knowing smile.
"I feel like Cupid shot me through the heart ... and I'm terrified," she responded meeting his grin weakly, crumbling into the sheets of glass, billowing fire and ash waiting for him to join her.
And when he did, the skyline lost its lovers. And instead of wondering what is wrong with US,
citizens blamed those Others, but those Others were fathers and mothers and citizens like US too
whose only crime was that they looked brown or loved god or questioned the tyranny, but none of this is new...
Skinheads throw rocks, Presidents pass the blame, "God loves America, but wants to see other people all the same."
2,995 people, murdered Sept. 11, 2001. Including the hijackers.

You get what I'm saying? A war on Terror is a war
to keep fear in your mind. Terrorists don't
have to wear hijabs, they could as easily use ties.
They don't have to die for god
in order to matter, they just have
sign new laws and justify the people
they call "collateral."
Notice: Would all terrorists and potential Jihadis please report to airport security for a private screening of "Why America is Beautiful: From tea parties to Guantanamo" before boarding their flight. Thank you.
-is it that easy? Terror alert Red, Terror alert blue, Terror alert white.
Ok, Crusader,
It's time to finally fight.
